The Patton Veterans Project invites the community to a special film screening on Wednesday, October 15, at 5:30 PM at the Art House in Billings. This free event will feature short films created by local veterans during last month’s “I Was There” Film Workshop. Led by Benjamin Patton—grandson of WWII’s General George S. Patton, Jr.—and a team of professional instructors, the workshops empower servicemen and women to share meaningful service experiences through filmmaking. Following the screening, guests are invited to a meet-and-greet reception with the veteran filmmakers. Parking is available downtown, and the event is free and open to all.

Join the Veteran Resource & Career Fair on November 6, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Fort Harrison’s HAFRC Auditorium & Drill Floor in Helena, MT. This event offers veterans the chance to connect with employers, explore community resources, and receive resume assistance. The day kicks off with an opening ceremony, followed by a career fair and support services—all designed to empower and support those who’ve served.

The Fort Belknap Veterans Powwow will take place November 7–8, at the Chief Enemy Killer Center in Lodgepole, Montana. This annual event honors and celebrates our warriors, bringing together veterans, families, and community members in a weekend of song, dance, and tradition. The powwow will feature dance contests for all age groups, grand entries on Friday evening and Saturday, and performances from the host drum Dry Lake with sound by Powwow Network Soundz. Attendees can look forward to a vibrant celebration of culture, unity, and gratitude for those who have served.
The Northern Hills Veterans Appreciation Fair is taking place on Saturday, November 8, at the Sturgis Community Center. Guest registration begins at 10:30 a.m., with an opening ceremony at 11:00 a.m. in the auditorium. This free event welcomes all veterans and their families to connect with vital services and enjoy a day of support and appreciation. From Veterans Service Officers (VSOs) and VA services to outdoor recreation, service dogs, employment assistance, housing support, education, and a flu clinic, there’s something for everyone. Lunch and refreshments are included, and the event runs until 2:00 p.m.
The Southwest Montana Veterans Food Pantry and Services will host a Food Giveaway for Veterans on Saturday, November 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Green Apple Counseling in Great Falls. This event is dedicated to supporting veterans and their families by providing essential food items to those in need.
Join us in honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes at the 2025 Veterans Day Commemoration Regional Site Event. The Blackfoot Valley Veterans Memorial Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 11 at Legacy Park in Lincoln. The Helena Veteran Service Providers group will meet on Wednesday, October 8 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Sara McCabe Power Community Room in the Lewis and Clark Library. A virtual option will be available. This meeting is open to any individual, organization, or nonprofit that supports and provides services to service members (active duty, National Guard, Reserve), veterans, and military families. August's guest presentation will be provided by Volunteers of America.
The 24th Annual Libby Stand Down will be held October 4–5, 2025, at the Libby Memorial Events Center. This free event for veterans will provide services such as haircuts, surplus military clothing, food boxes, and lunch. Resources will also be available, including VA clinic service officers, physical and mental health providers, employment counseling, and connections to veteran service organizations. A civilian clothing giveaway will take place in the parking lot, open to the public. Veterans should bring their DD214, VA card, or military ID to access services. Event hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while supplies last.

Be a part of the Unattended Veterans Ceremony on Wednesday, October 1, at 12:00 p.m. at Yellowstone National Cemetery. This solemn ceremony honors the memory of veterans who have no family members present to witness their service recognized. The program will include the posting and retiring of the colors, a color guard presentation, the Pledge of Allegiance, prayers, the reading of veterans’ names, a volley, and taps. All are welcome to attend and pay their respects to those who served our nation.
The Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame is proud to host its 20th Annual Scholarship Fundraising Banquet & Gathering on Saturday, September 27, at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center. This milestone event will be the largest celebration yet, bringing the community together to honor the past, celebrate the present, and invest in the future through scholarships for young Montanans. Guests can look forward to an unforgettable evening filled with camaraderie, tradition, and the spirit of rodeo.
Mark your calendars for the Suicide Prevention Coalition of Yellowstone Valley's annual day-long conference on Friday, September 26 at the Mansfield Center at Intermountain Health St. Vincent Hospital. This important event focuses on building connections and advancing suicide prevention efforts across the community. Attendees can learn about the coalition’s work, apply to be a speaker, become an event sponsor, and connect with others passionate about mental health. Registration opens in June.

Join SPARC and BAFVTF for their 36th Annual McGuire Memorial Conference on Family Violence on September 25–26 at the First Interstate Bank Operations Center in Billings, MT. This year’s keynote presentation, hosted by the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC) will explore the dynamics of stalking, its intersection with other forms of victimization, the use of technology, and best practices for investigation and victim safety planning.
The NW Montana Job & Opportunity Fair will be held on September 24, 2025, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Trade Center at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. This event brings together top employers and veteran service providers, offering resources in healthcare, benefits, housing, and more. Service providers who support veterans are encouraged to register and participate by sharing the opportunities and assistance they provide.

Be a part of this years Yellowstone Valley Walk Out of the Darkness, hosted by American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This fundraiser will take place on September 21st at Will James Middle School, and all are welcome to participate. AFSP is asking for people to participate in the walk free of charge, volunteer to help this event go smoothly, as well as sponsors for the event. The Patton Veterans Project invites veterans to participate in a free weekend filmmaking workshop at Montana State University Billings from September 19–21, 2025. Hosted by the Military and Veterans Success Center, this three-day program provides veterans with the opportunity to share their stories through film while building connections with fellow participants. No prior experience is needed—just bring your creativity.
Be a part of the 2025 Vets4Vets Stand Down on September 19–20 at the Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls. This free event for veterans offers claims assistance, job and legal help, counseling, medical and vision screenings, haircuts, massages, and more. Free meals, Pepsi products, and Starbucks coffee will be available. A dedication ceremony honoring fallen members of Vet4Vets will take place Friday, September 19th at 10 a.m. All veterans are welcome to take part in this weekend of support, resources, and community.

Join us as we come together to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to recognize the bravery of first responders at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on September 11, at MSU Billings. The program will include remarks from Chancellor Stefani Hicswa, Ph.D., and members of the Montana Congressional Delegation, as well as a guest address from Billings Fire Chief Matt Hoppel. The event will also feature recognition of first responders, with the support of MSU Billings Army ROTC Cadets.
