VNN invites you to First Friday - RED Friday at Angry Hank’s Microbrewery in Billings on November 7 from 4–9 p.m. RED Friday—short for “Remember Everyone Deployed”—is a nationwide movement encouraging people to wear red on Fridays to honor those currently serving. Join VNN by wearing your RED-branded shirt or wristband, available for purchase on-site, and enjoy a pint for a purpose. Angry Hank’s will donate $1 per pint sold to support local veterans and service members through VNN’s ongoing programs and services.

VetFlix & Chill kicked off on July 16th, and will continue every third Wednesday of the month! Join us in the conference room for a relaxed evening of military movie screenings with fellow veterans. Expect laughs, commentary, and real talk—what the movie got right, what it didn’t, and everything in between. Volunteers will be on hand to greet guests and guide them in. Childcare may be available for R-rated films, but please text or call (406) 696-3425 in advance so we can plan accordingly. Come hang out, watch a movie, and connect with the community!

The Patton Veterans Project invites the community to a special film screening on Wednesday, October 15, at 5:30 PM at the Art House in Billings. This free event will feature short films created by local veterans during last month’s “I Was There” Film Workshop. Led by Benjamin Patton—grandson of WWII’s General George S. Patton, Jr.—and a team of professional instructors, the workshops empower servicemen and women to share meaningful service experiences through filmmaking. Following the screening, guests are invited to a meet-and-greet reception with the veteran filmmakers. Parking is available downtown, and the event is free and open to all.

The Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame is proud to host its 20th Annual Scholarship Fundraising Banquet & Gathering on Saturday, September 27, at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center. This important event focuses on building connections and advancing suicide prevention efforts across the community. Join SPARC and BAFVTF for their 36th Annual McGuire Memorial Conference on Family Violence on September 25–26 at the First Interstate Bank Operations Center in Billings, MT. This year’s keynote presentation, hosted by the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC) will explore the dynamics of stalking, its intersection with other forms of victimization, the use of technology, and best practices for investigation and victim safety planning.

Be a part of this years Yellowstone Valley Walk Out of the Darkness, hosted by American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This fundraiser will take place on September 21st at Will James Middle School, and all are welcome to participate. AFSP is asking for people to participate in the walk free of charge, volunteer to help this event go smoothly, as well as sponsors for the event. Join us as we come together to honor and remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to recognize the bravery of first responders at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony will take place on September 11, at MSU Billings. The program will include remarks from Chancellor Stefani Hicswa, Ph.D., and members of the Montana Congressional Delegation, as well as a guest address from Billings Fire Chief Matt Hoppel. The event will also feature recognition of first responders, with the support of MSU Billings Army ROTC Cadets.

Get ready for the 7th annual Food Truck Battle on the Yellowstone, happening Saturday, August 23rd, at the Armed Forces Reserve Center! Over 50 food trucks will compete for top honors, alongside cold beer, live music all day, and a family-friendly area with free kids' activities. All proceeds—10% of food truck sales, and 100% of beer and gate profits—will support veterans. Admission is just $5, with free entry for kids under 12, veterans, and active military with ID. A free shuttle will run from designated parking areas—watch the event page for details. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance via EventGroove (non-transferable—avoid resales for your safety).
