VNN invites you to First Friday - RED Friday at Canyon Creek Brewing in Billings on April 3 from 4–8 p.m. RED Friday—short for “Remember Everyone Deployed”—is a nationwide movement encouraging people to wear red on Fridays to honor those currently serving. Join VNN and the Montana Department of Corrections for an interactive Justice-Involved Re-Entry Simulation on May 13 from 1:00–4:00 PM at the United Way in Billings. This experience is designed to reflect the real-world challenges justice-involved individuals often face during re-entry into the community, including barriers related to employment, housing, healthcare, finances, and family stress.
Approximately 5,000 veterans who have served in the Indian Wars, American Civil War, World War I & II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War, now lay to rest in the Custer National Cemetery, located on the grounds of Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. To honor the fallen service members for Memorial Day, volunteers will place American flags at each of the 5,000 headstones in the Custer National Cemetery the week before.
Join Evoke Changes Outdoors for a powerful weekend of connection, growth, and outdoor adventure at the Wahl Family Farm. This Veterans Adventure Therapy Retreat brings together a small group of veterans for camping, long-distance gopher hunting, and meaningful group sessions designed to build emotional resilience and strengthen daily coping skills.
Join the Billings community for Carry The Load on Saturday, May 30, at Rocky Mountain College. This Memorial May event brings people together to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s military members, veterans, first responders, and their families. The day will feature inspiring speakers sharing powerful stories of service and sacrifice, followed by a 5K or 10K community walk that allows participants to reflect, remember, and show support for those who have carried the burden of service.
This free, community-wide event brings together service providers, organizations, and resources dedicated to supporting veterans and their families across the region. The day will begin with an opening ceremony at 10:00 AM featuring the presentation of colors and national anthem, followed by remarks from distinguished military and community leaders. Attendees can connect with local providers, explore breakout sessions covering topics like home care programs, 988, QPR, VSO meetings, and medical claims assistance, and engage with services from across the Bitterroot Valley.
VOA Northern Rockies is offering free Moral Injury retreats in 2026 for veterans seeking healing and connection in a supportive, confidential setting. Moral injury can result from actions taken, not taken, or witnessed that conflict with deeply held values, and it is not the same as PTSD. These retreats provide a safe space for veterans to process experiences related to guilt, grief, shame, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and other challenges that can follow military service.
Evoke Changes Outdoors invites veterans to take part in a unique Spring Bear Adventure Therapy Hunt in Northwest Montana. This immersive experience is designed for a small group, combining the challenge of a guided bear hunt with therapeutic outdoor engagement.
The (not so) Average Jane Retreat is a seven-day immersive wellness experience designed exclusively for female combat veterans, by a female combat veteran who understands the unique challenges of service, transition, and healing. Operation Juliet focuses on four primary holistic healing modalities: equine, art, songwriting, and resonance repatterning.

RED stands for “Remember Everyone Deployed”. We wear our RED gear (hoodies, t-shirts, wristbands) every Friday, but once a month get together at a local brewery to show our support for the men and women serving far from home, and remind their friends and families that they are not forgotten.
On March 6, Eagle Mount welcomes veterans to a morning of adaptive skiing and snowboarding at Red Lodge Mountain. This session offers a relaxed and inclusive environment where veterans of all abilities can reconnect with movement, build confidence on the snow, and enjoy the outdoors with support from trained staff and volunteers. Whether you’re trying adaptive winter sports for the first time or returning to the slopes, Eagle Mount provides the equipment, instruction, and encouragement needed to make the experience safe and enjoyable.
