Firearm Informed Training

  • Midwest Shooting Center 1020 Central Avenue Billings, MT, 59102 United States (map)

Firearm Informed Training is a one-day, in-person professional development opportunity designed to bridge the gap between mental health care and firearm ownership. Hosted by Veterans Navigation Network in partnership with The Mind Safety Institute, this training equips licensed professional counselors with foundational firearm knowledge, cultural awareness, and evidence-based strategies for working effectively with clients who own firearms. Participants will explore the values, beliefs, and identities within firearm-owning communities, practice ethical and culturally competent approaches to firearm-related clinical challenges, and gain hands-on experience from a qualified instructor.

The training offers 6 CEUs, includes lunch, and will take place on April 2, from 9:00 am–5:00 pm at the Midwest Shooting Center in Billings, Montana.
