Veterans Navigation Network (VNN) and the Home Builders Association of Billings are proud to launch Builders for Vets—a community initiative that brings together builders, suppliers, and supporters to ensure local veterans can remain safely and securely in their homes.
Builders for Vets focuses on providing critical home repairs for veterans and their families facing housing instability due to injury, aging, or financial hardship. Today, we’re asking you to join this mission by donating labor, materials, or funding to support those who’ve already sacrificed so much for our country.
A Call to Action: Help a Veteran and His Family Rebuild Their Home
Brian, an Army Ranger and Billings native, served on five combat deployments before medically retiring in 2019. After returning home, Brian purchased a home in 2020 for his wife Ashley and their two children. Despite taking all the right steps, a hidden structural issue led to a devastating roof collapse—directly above his son’s bedroom.
Fortunately, no one was injured. But after two years of battling insurance denials and legal barriers, the damage remains unrepaired, leaving the family burdened and vulnerable.
Through Builders for Vets, we want to change that—and we need your help.
How You Can Support
We invite you to contribute in any of the following ways:
Labor: Skilled trades (roofing, framing, plumbing, electrical, general construction)
Supplies: Lumber, trusses, insulation, drywall, roofing materials, tools, etc.
Funding: Help cover project costs not otherwise donated (permits, inspections, etc.)
Every donation—no matter the size—makes a direct impact in restoring dignity, safety, and stability for veterans in our community. Your partnership shows that our builders stand behind our heroes.
Let’s come together to honor Brian, and other veteran’s service by rebuilding what’s been lost. "Thank you for your service" can only go so far.
